The MediaDice® – Solid State Drive Disintegrator (MD-SSD/D) operates with a mechanism similar to several other shredding machines. This destruction device can break down storage media into tiny pieces, rendering them completely unusable. The cutting blades are capable of reducing materials to particles as small as 2 mm or even smaller.
The duration of the destruction process generally depends on the size of the HDD or SSD being processed. The larger the SSD, the longer the destruction time required. However, when used for standard-sized SSDs, the machine typically maintains a throughput rate of up to 360 SSDs per hour — equivalent to one SSD every 10 seconds.
The storage drawer for the shredded materials is quite spacious, capable of holding up to 25 storage devices after destruction. There’s no need to constantly check whether the drawer is full — you can easily monitor it through the viewing window or control panel and empty it when it reaches capacity.
During the destruction process, the machine automatically activates its HEPA air filtration system.
