The American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) serves as Indonesia’s binational Fulbright Commission. For more than twenty-five years, AMINEF has continued to uphold the vision and mission of the Fulbright Program in Indonesia, which marked its 65th anniversary in 2017. Through its educational exchange initiatives, AMINEF has fostered mutual understanding between the United States and Indonesia while strengthening the ties that connect the two nations.
Since 1950, a total of 2,815 Indonesians and 1,120 Americans have taken part in these exchange programs. Approximately 80 percent of Indonesian participants have earned graduate degrees at the master’s or doctoral level from U.S. universities, while the remaining 20 percent have joined non-degree exchange programs administered by AMINEF.
